Science Fair Dates
Division I – High School Science Fair – Thursday, March 2, 2023
The deadlines for registering/completing paperwork are;
Division I Science Fair – 12 pm Friday, February 21, 2023
All documents and links to videos (google drive, YouTube, etc.) must be saved as a pdf for uploading.
DIVISION 1 (9th-12th grade)
The Montana Tech Regional Science & Engineering Fair is affiliated with the Regeneron International Science & Engineering Fair (ISEF).
All Division 1 Projects must follow all ISEF rules and requirements, submit a completed Research Compliance + Photo Release, a Research Paper, all required ISEF forms, a Quad_Chart (this can be a photograph of the poster board that they presented at the fair) and submit an optional 2-minute Presentation Video along with an optional 1-minute demonstration video (the videos are used in the Project Showcase for public viewing after the fair has been completed).
All Division 1 projects will be inspected by the Display and Safety Committee.
Rules and Regulations
ISEF Rules and Regulations will be enforced for Division I only, but rules pertaining to items prohibited for display are applicable to BOTH DIVISIONS. Nothing can be displayed which is unsafe or visually offensive. 5th-8th graders – please refer to the Display and Safety Regulations for Division II.
Protocols for all research experimentation, DNA and Pathological Agents, and Controlled Substances must be approved by OUR Scientific Review Committee (SRC) and/or Institutional Review Board (IRB), or by a local SRC and/or IRB as per the rules and regulations outlined by ISEF, prior to the beginning of research. Also, please note that ALL projects, including paperwork, will be checked by our SRC and IRB prior to competition. If any questions arise concerning project approval, contact the SRC Chairperson, and they will direct you to the appropriate specialist or scientist.
INDIVIDUALS SEEKING APPROVAL AFTER PROJECTS HAVE BEGUN MAY BE DISQUALIFIED.
